A zodiac cup for tea, espresso, and coffee drinks. I make two versions: a yunomi style cup with no handle, and a tea cup with a one-finger handle. Crafted at the wheel by hand in my home studio, with underglaze abstract artwork.
Details:
- Color: warm rust and beige meets creamy white
- Capacity: approximately 6oz (~0.75 cups)
- Size: cup: diameter 3 inches, height 3 inches (handle is an additional 1-1.5 inches)
- Material: stoneware or porcelain (ceramic), glazed and fired to cone 5 or 6 in oxidation
- Versatility: the cup is great for tea, espresso, or coffee drinks, and is made to fit comfortably under most espresso machines.
Fulfillment: In stock items are processed within five business (working) days, with total lead time between 2-10 days. Out of stock items have a lead time of 4-8 weeks.
Safety: Food Safe (lead-free and cadmium-free). I make my own glazes and test them for scratch resistance and acid leaching, to ensure they are physically and chemically durable and capable of many years of consistent use. I occasionally use commercial glazes that also pass my tests.
Care: Microwave and dishwasher safe; hand wash recommended. As with most handmade ceramics, please avoid shocking your cup with sudden temperature changes beyond a difference of 100ºC. Cleaning promptly after use and occasionally running your cup in the dishwasher will help ensure your cup's continued food safety for many, many years.
